Katriona Flynn is an award-winning lecturer in Fashion and Luxury Goods at TU Dublin. She graduated with a BA in Fashion from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and completed her MA from the acclaimed Central Saint Martin’s College, London.

She has worked with the design and product teams of some of the world’s most prestigious fashion brands Burberry, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. 

She has lectured at London College of Fashion, Central Saint Martins, London College of Contemporary Arts, Fashion Retail Academy, London and at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin

She is undertaking a PhD at the University of Arts London, exploring the theme of motherhood and the creative industries.

 

Through her ongoing project, Desert Island Dress, she seeks to explore the complex relationship between individuals and clothing, examining how this understanding can inform and shape our future engagement with fashion.

Dr. Dee Duffy is a lecturer and researcher with over 17 years of experience in teaching, programme design, and enterprise engagement. As the former Programme Director of the Master’s in Fashion Buying & Management at Technological University Dublin, she played a key role in elevating the course to international prominence.

 

Awarded her PhD in 2013 for research on how young Irish men construct masculine identity through everyday consumption and leisure, Dee has built a career examining the complex relationship between what we consume and who we are. Her teaching and research encompass consumer identity, gender, sustainability, and the evolving dialogue between academia and industry.

 

Her work has taken her to international stages in Bangkok, Helsinki, Paris, London, Stockholm, and the U.S., sharing insights from her studies.

 

Through her research and this ongoing project, Desert Island Dress, she continues to explore how the clothing we choose shapes our lives, connecting us to people, places, and moments that matter.
